What is Ki-Hara Resistance Stretching?
A Ki-Hara Session is an hour and a half flexibility session. It's difficulty level is tailored per client, but will include soft tissue work (mashing), strengthening and eccentric (active) stretching. Come on in and pick a body part that you would like "balanced" or "problem solved." Then, relax and enjoy some mashing and chatting about your flexibility goals. Once the tissue is prepared, we will activate and active stretch you. You will leave feeling lighter and relaxed! A Private, assisted Ki-Hara Session is $200, but depending on length could be less or more. We also offer some "self" stretching exercises, which residents of Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Torrance can easily come in and learn for self care. I am now also offering Zoom sessions, which can be recorded so you can revisit them.
The Ki-Hara Method - What is different?
The Ki-Hara Method of Resistance Stretching is for everyone who has a body. Stretching, or Flexibility Training, should feel "eyes rolling back in your head good" and most people have been taught to search for a pain signal instead. Allow us to show you how we have ALL BEEN TAUGHT TO STRETCH INCORRECTLY, and what we can NOW do better to give you a pleasant stretching experience. In a Ki-Hara Session you can expect to experience a 3 part formula:
1. Mashing - We use massage balls, rollers or my feet to prepar the tissue for stretching
2. Strength training - Warm up the freshly prepared muscle, since you cannot active stretch a muscle that won't fire.
3. Active Stretch - Achieve a proper active stretch on each side of whatever limb we are working on. Think of a compass and we will mash/strenght train/length train all 8 directions N,S,E,W,NE,NW,SE,SW. If there is an injury or surgical scar, we bust out our bigger, badder formulas.
